Symbio launches the first training platform on hydrogen

Today we are sharing a significant advancement in hydrogen training with the launch of the Symbio Hydrogen Academy platform. Presented at the Mondial de l’Auto 2024, this initiative aims to meet the growing skills needs in the rapidly expanding hydrogen sector.

An Accessible and Ambitious Platform

The Symbio Hydrogen Academy marks a first with the launch of a digital educational platform dedicated entirely to hydrogen. This initiative aims to democratize access to training for a diversity of audiences. This ranges from high school students to industry professionals. Available in French and English, the platform provides 40 hours of online modules. It covers four essential areas. Among others, we mention the hydrogen sector, fuel cell technology, embedded systems, standards and regulations.

This project receives active support from the State and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region through the France 2030 program, with the backing of the Bank of Territories. In addition to online modules, 518 hours of in-person training are also offered. This is essential to enrich the educational offering with a hybrid approach.

A Collaboration of Talent for an Excellent Project

The success of this platform relies on the contribution of a consortium of eight complementary partners. Moreover, it brings together academic, industrial, and institutional experts. Institutions such as les Mines Paris-PSL and ECAM Lasalle provide recognized academic expertise. Other partners such as LGM Sector Group, SHERPA Engineering, and l’Ineris Formation enrich the project with technical and consulting skills.

Vincent Zwicky, Vice President of Symbio in charge of HR, Information Systems, and Legal Affairs, emphasizes the importance of this initiative. “The Symbio Hydrogen Academy addresses a previously unmet training need: learning about all organizational, technological, and legal issues in the hydrogen sector. It represents a major opportunity for the decarbonization of the economy and mobility in France and beyond.” This collaborative approach ensures regular updates of the content to keep pace with the rapid evolution of the hydrogen sector and to respond to emerging needs of businesses and communities.

Addressing the Challenges of Tomorrow

Hydrogen is now identified as a key lever to reduce the carbon impact of the economy and transform the mobility sectors. With this new platform, Symbio and its partners offer an unprecedented training tool. The goal is to enable students, technicians, and engineers to acquire the necessary skills for the energy transition. The project is also open to future partnerships. It aims to continue to enhance the offering and adapt the content to the sector’s developments. The Symbio Hydrogen Academy thus lays the foundations for a sector of excellence in France. It is ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow with trained and competent talents.
