He believes that soon, solar and wind energy will be able to meet our energy needs entirely, throughout the day, every day. Statewide and National Commitments
In 2018, California was the first state to formally commit to achieving 100% clean energy, prompting 12 other states to follow suit with varying timelines. Among them, California, Hawaii, Washington, and New Mexico aim for 2045 to reach this ambitious goal. Other states such as Connecticut, New York, Minnesota, Oregon, and Michigan have set 2040 as their target date, while Rhode Island and Vermont aim for 2033 and 2035 respectively.
Challenges and Opportunities for the Future
