Bouygues Telecom announces a historic partnership with Statkraft, Europe’s leading renewable energy producer. This Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) spans a duration of 10 years. It guarantees a solar energy supply of 35 GWh per year. Starting in early 2025, two French photovoltaic plants will provide 13 GWh of green energy, complemented by three additional plants by mid-2025. This partnership confirms Bouygues Telecom’s climate strategy, which aims for a reduction of its carbon emissions in accordance with the targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
A responsible and structured approach
Eric Laurent, Director of Purchases at Bouygues Telecom, expresses his satisfaction: « We are particularly pleased to conclude this partnership with Statkraft. It confirms Bouygues Telecom’s commitment to the development of renewable energies in France, and thus allows eco-responsible plants to secure their financing, while giving us visibility through guaranteed volumes for 10 years. » Statkraft highlights its expertise in renewable energies to meet the expectations of committed companies. Simon Kornek, Vice President of Origination for Southern Europe at Statkraft, states: « We are a long-established European player and a leader in bespoke green energy solutions. A long-term ecological approach
Bouygues Telecom chooses a CPPA. This allows for financing new solar and wind farms in France. This fixed-price model provides financial stability and reliable supply of renewable energies. This partnership is part of a broader approach. This approach aims to reduce CO2 emissions from Bouygues Telecom. The goals include a 29.4% reduction for scopes 1 and 2, and 17.5% reduction for scope 3 by 2027. The reference year is 2021. With this agreement, Bouygues Telecom and Statkraft lead the way for other companies, promising an ecological and economically viable model.
